  • What is PMC (Precious Metal Clay)?
Developed by Japanese scientists in 1991, precious metal clay consists of pure silver or gold in tiny particles smaller than 20 microns. These particles are mixed in an organic binder and water formula. During firing, the binder burns away and the precious metals sinter, leaving either .999 silver or 24K gold. PMC holds the surface pattern of organic objects like leaves and twigs, and when fired, the organic materials burn away leaving detailed imprint in silver and gold. A great creative medium!
